b. 1986, Romania
Lives and works in Berlin

The young artist Andreea Ciobîcă has developed a distinctive artistic approach focused on drawing as a starting point for a research on time, space and perception that expands through objects and large-scale installations. Her practice combines simple, traditional materials with more experimental, new media ones, drawing inspiration form various fields, such as physics, mathematics or philosophy.
A graduate of the Graphics Department from the University of Art and Design Cluj Napoca, Romania, her works have been shown in the Vienna Biennale 2015, Mains D’Oeuvre, Saint-Ouen, Paris (2014), at Salonul de Proiecte, Bucharest (2013), at Catherine Putman Gallery, Paris (2013) as a winner of the Grand Prix, Foire international de dessin and as a Guest of Honour at Twilight-Zone Gallery, Tournai, Belgium (2012). In 2014 Ivan Gallery showed her first solo show, “Steep / Negative Space ½” and in 2017 her third solo show "Behind void there is a voice the color of glass ceilings".
