resilience is defined as an individual’s ability to successfully adapt to life tasks in the face of social disadvantage or highly adverse conditions

resilience is the ability of a material to absorb energy when it is deformed elastically, and release that energy upon unloading

resilience refers to an entity’s ability to continuously deliver the intended outcome despite adverse events

resilience is the ability to absorb or avoid damage without suffering complete failure

resilience is the ability to provide and maintain an acceptable level of service in the face of faults and challenges to normal operation
resilience is the capacity of a system to tolerate disturbance without collapsing into a qualitatively different state that is controlled by a different set of processes

Andreea Ciobîcă (Romanian, b. 1986) has developed a distinctive artistic approach focused on drawing as a starting point for a research on time, space and perception that expands through objects and large-scale installations. Her practice combines simple, traditional materials with more experimental, new media ones, drawing inspiration form various fields, such as physics, mathematics or philosophy. A graduate of the Graphics Department from the University of Art and Design Cluj Napoca, Romania, her works have been shown in the Vienna Biennale 2015, Mains D’Oeuvre, Saint-Ouen, Paris (2014), at Salonul de Proiecte, Bucharest (2013), at Catherine Putman Gallery, Paris (2013) as a winner of the Grand Prix, Foire international de dessin and as a Guest of Honour at Twilight-Zone Gallery, Tournai, Belgium (2012). În 2014 Ivan Gallery showed her first solo show, “Steep / Negative Space ½”. She lives and works in Cluj Napoca, Romania.

The exhibition can be visited until 16 September 2017, Wednesday to Saturday, 13-18, or by appointment outside the visiting hours.
