With an artistic practice of over 10 years, working in different mediums (performance, video, installation), Anca Benera & Arnold Estefan have been working together since 2010. In 2012 they sign an official legalized contract in front of a lawyer, stating that they are mutually assigning each other the rights of individual works, according to the period of time they have been together.

The exhibition is presenting five works made in 2012 and 2013 and displayed for the first time in Bucharest. Their most recent work, Compensation for the lack of resources, giving the exhibition’s title, is the starting point for a discussion about power relations and the financial gap between individual and corporations. In 2013, Anca Benera & Arnold Estefan have been receiving income for their artistic activities exclusively via Austrian cultural institutions. All documents serving as evidence for these activities have been processed into a ball of paper. The percentage stated on the wall corresponds to the ratio of their Austrian income to the sum of the profits OMV achieved in the oil business in Romania in the past fiscal year.
