Five Individual Solutions

Daniela Pălimariu

12.12.2014 – 07.02.2015

Ivan Gallery has the pleasure to invite you to the opening of Daniela Palimariu’s solo show “Five Individual Solutions”. The event will take place on Friday, December 12 at 7:00 p.m.

“I built five objects that make you either go around them, either go closer that you would prefer. They start from the simplest geometric forms – circle, triangle – and can be multiplied forever, generating systems. They attach themselves to straight planes and they never cross each other. Part of them escape the gallery, taking over intermediate spaces, suggesting a route.
Solution #3 is suspended outside, becoming both a tee and a question for the neighbors on Grecescu street. If it would be extended upwards, Solution #1 would create a mat, rotating cilinder, suitable for a temporary break, right at the beginning of the route. Solution #2 makes this possible without any other adjustments, and for various hights. Each object or system involves an individual contact. They are slightly deformed versions of the everyday solutions through which we negociate relations and approaches with the spaces we take over.”(D.P.)
