Steep / Negative Space 1/2

Andreea Ciobîcă

30.04.2014 – 30.07.2014

Ivan Gallery has the pleasure to invite you to the opening of Andreea Ciobîcă’s solo show, “Steep / Negative Space 1/2“ which will be held in a new exhibition space of the gallery, on the first floor of the building.

“Nothing is permanent. If I tried to divert the mechanics of change the answer would probably be close to failure. A fractured conversation, the physical dimension of a common ground, broken in order to create space for a devastating uncertainty and fragility, redraws the limits of the subject. The exercise is nothing more than the image of an error, the document of an unsuccessful attempt to describe a vague positioning in relation to a past event. The deviation and abandonment restore the incisive confidence of a void space between two elements that would have become one for the sake of consistency. The practice of adaptation, a mental process justified by the context of change, becomes central for this project.” (Andreea Ciobîcă)
